Sacred Earth Alaska
A Container for Transformation
Learning is not just the left brain stuff. Children know this. They are out there running and jumping, singing, dancing, playing, creating, imagining, listening and responding to their own hearts, bodies and minds, the whole earth, its creatures, and the stars. The goal of Sacred Earth Alaska is to remember that spirit within us and to keep that spirit of awe, wonder, and gratitude alive within us, and act from this deeper wisdom.
At Sacred Earth we are engaged in body, mind, and spirit practices as well as rational and intuitive study and expression. We also address the issues of climate adaptation and mitigation, looking for ways we can assist our planet in local and global action. We offer creative opportunities for all of these. Sometimes we need specific interpersonal skills to move forward. We may need to increase our understanding of emotions, or our communication skills, or our stress management skills, etc. in order to enhance the journey. Life, love and inspiration happen in the present moment. How do we remain in the present moment to experience the gifts of where and who we are? Our study groups are designed to cultivate the natural ability to show up and be present to life, to ourselves, to each other, and to the Spirit of life. To these aims, we offer both online and in-person classes.
Our Mission
Our community, like the sacred Earth, is multicultural, multi-ethnic and deeply ecumenical. We are diverse like the Earth is diverse. Our mission is
1. To reawaken our sense of the sacred within ourselves, within the earth and in this interconnected universe of cosmic wonder.
2. To make meaningful diverse community with those who realize caring about the earth and its life forms especially in this time of climate crisis is a spiritual practice.
3. To learn from the ancestral wisdom and join with other lovers of creation: scientists, teachers, mystics, artists, and activists who are doing the direct work in the arctic and the planet as an interdependent whole.
4.To restore with joy, struggle, creativity and gratitude, the balance within ourselves and in creation.
About Sacred Earth Alaska Learning & Creating Community - Coaching, Mentoring & Learning from Each Other.
Our community offers a variety of educational opportunities, practices, and coaching services to help you identify what has HEART AND MEANING FOR YOU.
Each of these is a doorway into our community and into your own heart. Some come and stay for a short while, others stay for longer wanting the full deal. Both are right and good.
At some of our offerings we pass the hat, at others we charge a fee. We have expenses. For those who have needs we have a sliding scale, volunteering, and scholarships. No one is turned away.

WINTER 2025 OFFERINGS BELOW
Transformational Dreamwork I
We will interact with our dreams’ images in four ways. We will observe the energetic aspects of each dream. We will associate the dream images with the realities of our own life, amplify the images through art and movement to address archetypal and spiritual aspects of our lives; and animate and tend to the dream’s images of the natural world that have strong feeling and resonance, that are radiant, peculiar, odd, out of place, even terrifying or horrid. We will also look at those images in the human world that are artistic, handmade, beautiful and alive. Then we are listening for the World’s Dream.

Talking Circle
This circle is composed of people from many traditions practicing presence together. Intellectual and doctrinal faith exchanges are proper in another environment. Here we suspend the need to make distinctions of faith. Here we gather to focus on the heart and the experience of the presence of the Great Mystery in our lives.
The sharing circle is a form of community contemplation honoring the wisdom of our stories and the healing power of communal sharing. The evening leader opens with prayer and a brief personal sharing, relating his/her experience to the path of wisdom, and setting the theme for the evening’s sharing. When finished the leader nods to the person on the left. The group sharing begins and continues once or twice or three times depending on time.

Recovery Dharma
“Even though the Buddha didn’t talk specifically about addiction, he understood the obsessive nature of the human mind. He understood our attachment to pleasure and aversion to pain. He understood the extreme lengths we can sometimes go to, chasing what we want to feel and running away from the feelings we fear. This program leads to recovery from addiction to substances like alcohol and drugs, and also from what we refer to as process addictions. We can also become addicted to sex, gambling, technology, work, codependence, shopping, food, media, self-harm, lying, stealing, obsessive worrying. This is a path to freedom from any repetitive and habitual behavior that causes suffering. Recovery Dharma is a peer-led movement and a community that is unified by the potential in each of us to recover and find freedom from the suffering of addiction. We approach recovery from a place of individual and collective empowerment and we support each other as we walk this path of recovery together.”

Healing in the Mind of Christ
By placing ourselves within the worldview of Jesus, the Anointed One through the scriptures of the three Abrahamic faiths we enter the cosmogenic mind of the Jesus the Christ, the Anointed One, the Messiah, the Spirit of God as he is known in those faiths, seeing as a rabbi and teacher, as a redeemer and savior, as a healer and the Spirit of God. We are transformed in the presence of his internal being. This is an engaged meditation where there is quiet and movement, sound and silence. We will focus our energies on healing.
