The primary and highest purpose of the spiritual life of people and nations is to foster life by cultivating balance and harmony with nature, other creatures and with each other.
Balance and harmony are maintained through internal practices of introspection and right relationship to self and others in political and economic decision making; the compassionate engagement with the world.
With regards to nation states and their interests, the laborious diligent work of conflict resolution and cooperative action is imperative. Preemptive strike can not be condoned.
