archipelago of clouds
drifting westwards
into unknown seas

at the foot of the Cross
a blood-flecked snail
becomes a buddha

with each call
the cuckoo
melts the snow

somewhere in the fog
the little bell
around the horse's neck

was that your ghost
softly among fallen leaves
dead hedgehog

pale yellow sound
putting out the candle
a second moth is spared
